Bosch OEM Fuel Pressure Regulator for 2004.5-2005 GM with 6.6L Diesel 

OEM replacement fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pressure regulator (also called FCA, MPROP, Suction control valve, fuel pressure regulator) is a common failure for the Duramax diesel engine. A failed Fuel Pressure Regulator can cause a check engine light with low fuel pressure codes such as P0087, high fuel pressure codes P0088 and a number of other concerns such as lack of power, surging, smoking, hard start, no start and much more.

The fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the injection pump and is a calculated bleed from the pump to control fuel pressure. It is secured using 3 torx screws and is moderately difficult to install mainly because it's buried in the center of the engine compartment. It's also included on new and re-manufactured Bosch injection pumps.
