The factory cable set leaves a lot to desire with thin wall terminals and lugs. In addition, none of the terminations are insulated from the elements which causes them to break down over time. The driver’s side negative battery cable connects to the frame (not the block) and the crossover cable is inadequately sized at 2 AWG. Combined, this reduces the effectiveness of the driver’s side battery when starting the engine. Common problems with these vehicles are decreased starting performance, failed battery terminals, and grounding issues. Our kits address all of these issues.
