Fuel pressure is one of the most overlooked parts of a diesel truck. Whether you have a hard start in the morning, runs rough or has some injector stiction proper fuel pressure is vital.
This kit allows you to adjust the base fuel pressure to fit your need. We recommend setting pressure at 70-75 psi for most vehicles with a stock fuel pump. If you have a Fass or Airdog fuel system we recommending installing a fuel pressure gauge and adjusting fuel pressure to no less than 50 PSI under heavy load. In most cases, 70 psi unloaded is more than adequate.
From the factory International and Ford set fuel pressure around 50 psi. In some cases that fuel pressure can drop causing fuel injector scaring or in severe cases, injector failure. Ford engineers discovered this issue and release the infamous "Blue Spring Kit" which is a 3C3Z-9T517-AG part number from Ford. It runs around $85 or so from the dealer. It bumped fuel pressure to around 65 psi and dramatically improved injector longevity and loaded performance with proper fuel pressure. We also recommend you run a fuel additive such as XDP Diesel Power Plus to lubricate the fuel system and disperse water.
If you have severe injector stiction try some Rev-X or Hot Shots Stiction Eliminator. If that doesn't work, you need to replace injectors.
