Replacing the ICP Sensor in your 2003/Early ’04 6.0L PowerStroke There are a few important things to know…

The location of the early 6.0L ICP Sensor was designed in a volatile position. The sensor sits in a position that is about 5 inches from the turbo, and only about 3 inches away from the turbos up-pipes. Exhaust gas temperatures (EGT’s) in these pipes can reach up to 1,000°F in this location depending on different factors. What this means for you, the truck owner, is that this sensor sits in a location that is often subjected to temperatures significantly higher than sensors were able to withstand at the time this technology on your truck was released to the market. The motor utilizes heat shielding and other means to try to lower the ambient temperature in this compartment and in an effort to lessen the stress on the ICP sensor. However, although best efforts were made before launching the engine, these sensors had and continue to have an extremely high failure rate and were the direct reason Ford/Navistar changed the ICP sensors location within only 1 year of launching this engine platform.

These trucks are going on 14 to 15 years old and sensor technology has come a long way in that time. Today’s 2017 Ford/Navistar sensors utilize different technology than they did on the 2003/Early ‘04 6.0L, in the same way your cell phone has changed drastically since the early 2000’s and many other technologies have grown significantly in this time. That’s why when you’re going to take the time, effort and investment to replace your early 6.0L ICP Sensor you want to make sure that you’re replacing it with a product that incorporates today’s cutting-edge technologies and materials – that’s where Zibbix™ come in.

Zibbix™ Sensors use modern, patented technologies and the highest-grade materials available in the market, period. The ZBX-3511 2003/Early ’04 6.0L Zibbix sensor is designed to withstand higher temperatures and harsher operating conditions than the OEM sensor was capable of. The Zibbix sensor implements high-grade stainless steel for superior strength and corrosion resistance, upgraded internal technology as well as upgraded Dupont® thermoplastic material in the electrical connector capable of higher temps. For the early 6.0L ICP Sensor from Zibbix, you can expect a “set it and forget it” product and close the drawer on your tool box with the peace of mind that you’ve installed a sensor that is an even higher quality product than if you had replaced this sensor with an OEM unit from the dealer.
